The pepper before dissecting.
My first cut was horizontally across the bottom of the pepper. It revealed small cavities within the pepper with an assortment of seeds at the bottom.
I then went vertically down the side of one of these cavities to get a better view at the center of the pepper.
When I looked closer at the inside walls of the pepper, I noticed that it was lined with small vesicles (much like the inside of an orange slice).
The cross section of the core is an interesting substance. It is soft and squishy, almost taking the characteristics of soft mattress foam.
